Regional Government boosts funding for hernia surgeries and new Quebradas-Amparo road link
The Regional Government of Madeira has published two ordinances aimed at reorganizing budget allocations in strategic sectors of the region:
- Surgical Services: Through Ordinance no. 164/2026, the distribution of funds for the provision of surgical services for hernia treatment at the Health Service of the Autonomous Region of Madeira (SESARAM, EPERAM) was amended. The contract, with a total base price of €1,462,000.00 (VAT exempt), will have a duration of 180 days, with the financial burden fully allocated to the 2026 fiscal year.
- New Quebradas-Amparo Link: Ordinance no. 165/2026 readjusts the payment plan for the project "New Quebradas - Amparo Link. 1st Phase - Tunnels", which has a total value of €22,800,585.49. The budget schedule covers the years 2023 to 2026, with the largest share of the expenditure (€11,945,900.94) allocated to 2025 and €5,000,779.57 planned for 2026.
